Eulogies Flow for Rob and Michele Reiner as Medical Examiner's Findings Face a Security Hold.

Over a fortnight following the shocking loss of esteemed film director Rob Reiner and his wife, photographer Michele Reiner, peers and loved ones persist in remembering the duo.

Quoting a Classic: Cary Elwes Remembers His Director

Writing on Instagram, actor Cary Elwes, who was featured in Reiner's beloved 1987 film *The Princess Bride*, mentioned he only now felt able to express about his deep grief.

"Enough time has gone by that I can at last put my grief into words," shared Elwes, saying that his introductory moment with Reiner made him fall in love. "When we commenced spending more time together I realized this was someone I desired in my life."

The actor posted archival material from the movie, commenting that he doesn't recollect "a single day without laughter".

"The film is about love, loyalty and sacrifice. Values that Rob held dear. Which is among the many reasons he was the best person to direct it," Elwes expressed.

He went on to praise Michele Reiner, noting: "Claiming that they were a formidable pair would be an understatement. My heart still pangs every time I remember you." He finished with a phrase from *The Princess Bride*: "Indeed, death cannot stop true love but life is pain without you."

Martin Scorsese Recalls a Colleague and Comrade

In a separate piece, legendary director Martin Scorsese shared memories of Reiner, whom he originally knew in the 1970s.

"Right away, I loved being with Rob. We had a instant connection for each other. He was very funny and sometimes acutely humorous, but he was never the kind of guy who would command the room," Scorsese wrote.

Scorsese pointed out Reiner's acting part in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, portraying the father of the lead role.

"He was skilled at improv with the best. He was a master at comedy, he worked seamlessly with his co-stars, and he understood the emotional dilemma of his character," Scorsese wrote.

Judicial Actions: Autopsy Reports Sealed

This week, a Los Angeles court official decided to prevent the release of the Reiners' medical examiner's reports, following a petition from the LAPD.

A legal directive put a embargo on the files to prohibit the public release of "related notes, documents, files or images" pertaining to the active case.

The Medical Examiner's office had previously confirmed their deaths were the outcome of foul play, with a public database listing the cause as "wounds from an edged weapon".

Fallout and Commentary

In the wake of the deaths, public personalities offered different reactions.

Ex-President Donald Trump posted on the matter, making divisive statements that were met with immediate backlash by many public figures.

Podcaster Joe Rogan contributed his criticism to the detractors last week. Talking on his program, Rogan characterized the comments as "shocking" and suggested they showed a worrisome absence of compassion.

Rogan concluded by remarking that an adviser should have acted when the choice to speak on the death was made.
