Barcelona to Host Historic Fixture at Partially Completed Camp Nou on Saturday
Barcelona have announced their first game will take place at the still-under-construction Camp Nou on Saturday. They will welcome the Bilbao team in the Spanish league 30 months after they moved out so building work could begin.
“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Not all seats will be available with 45,401 fans are permitted inside based on approved permits. After final construction, the Camp Nou is due to hold close to 105,000 fans, increasing from the former 99,000. The club said completed upgrades featured a renovated tunnel for players along with upgraded changing facilities.
Stadium Testing
Barcelona held a fan-accessible workout on the home pitch earlier this month. They mentioned they are seeking authorization from Uefa to play their next home Champions League game versus the German side on 9 December at Camp Nou. Previous fixtures took place at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
