Anthony Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Nigeria Following Deadly Road Accident

The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, Nigerian authorities confirmed on Wednesday evening. The athlete was part of a serious road collision near Lagos on the 29th of December, a horrific crash that claimed the lives of two of his team members.

Healing from Light Wounds

The sports star had been receiving medical attention while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his management team stated earlier on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update online that Joshua was declared medically stable to “recuperate at home”.

“Joshua and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two deceased friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the official remarked.

A Tribute to the Fallen

The victims of the crash were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. It was also noted that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and overcome with emotion over the passing of his two trusted companions.”

The news of his discharge follows the global fight fans had expressed its support for the star in the following the terrible crash.
